About The Trail

The Llanishen Story Trail was commissioned by Cardiff’s Child Friendly City Team who have created bespoke story trails in Cardiff parks.

The trails lead children and their families through a curated series of stop points with QR codes where walkers can access each chapter of the particular story at that park. In addition to the Llanishen Story Trail at Lisvane & Llanishen Reservoirs, there are trails at Bute Park, Caerau Hillfort, Cardiff Bay, Cefn Onn Park, Coed Y Nant Park, Forest Farm Story, Hendre Lake and Park Tredelerch. Find out more here.

The Cardiff park story trails are designed to encourage playfulness, fun, and authentic engagement with the story by ‘finding’ the next location, engaging tangibly with the outdoor space (such as taking a bark rubbing/building something out of sticks), and discovering secret places in well-known Cardiff landmarks.
