Path closures for approximately eight weeks due to essential maintenance work from 8 September

Our walking trails and events programme offer educational opportunities for all ages and our walking trails help you connect with nature.
The reservoirs at Lisvane & Llanishen require regular maintenance to help keep the infrastructure safe and in good condition.
The latest work takes place in two areas on the east and south sides of Llanishen Dam from Tuesday 8 September. We expect it to take about eight weeks but this may change depending on how the work progresses.
To keep visitors and our teams safe while machinery is moving around the site, the following areas will be closed throughout the work:
The picnic area near the visitor centre
The entire length of the lower path from the boathouse to Rhyd-y-Penau track
The Story Trail
The Towy Road Gate
The waterside path around Llanishen Reservoir will remain open.

Welsh Water has worked closely with partners and the local community to create a hub for health and well-being whilst protecting the site’s biodiversity.
Lisvane and Llanishen Reservoirs is a natural resource of significant ecological value and encompasses two Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) for waxcap fungi and overwintering birds.
Open-water swimming sessions are part of the watersports programme on Llanishen Reservoir which also includes sailing, canoeing, kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding.
Our brand new two-storey visitor centre offers spectacular views across the reservoirs and an exceptional dining experience in our cafe.
